FAQ

If you have a question that is not listed below please do not hesitate to contact me.

  • What is Hypnotherapy?
We all experience the Hypnotic state in our everyday lives. If you have ever driven home and not remembered anything about the journey, or been engrossed in a book and not been conscious of the time passing? If so you have been in a state of focussed attention not unlike the feeling of being hypnotised. During hypnosis you will be guided into a similar state so that beneficial suggestions can be directed towards your subconscious mind.
  • What is Psychotherapy?
There are many different forms of psychotherapy, all of which aim to help people overcome emotional problems. Psychotherapy involves talking together to help clients overcome their difficulties. It can involve identifying difficult past experiences and determining how they affect the thinking and adopted behaviours of the present day. It is often when these patterns spiral out of control that clients want to make these links then change the patterns in order to move forward in their lives.
  • Which service is best for me?
Having a range of services available is helpful to all clients. The idea of one service ‘fits all’ is counterproductive and not individualised. During the assessment session we will explore what service is best for your particular presentation and personality. We will tailor the therapy to fit you specifically.
  • How long will the therapy last?
Sessions normally last for 50 minutes to an hour. The length of the therapy will be agreed at the assessment session but there will be reviews built in the work to discuss progress and reassess needs.
  • Will therapy benefit me?
Clients that have used therapy frequently report a change in their thinking, about themselves, the world and themselves in the world. Our reviews are evidence of progress and change. The ‘benefit’ will be measured by achieving the goals that the client brings to therapy. The experience of achieving these goals is part of the benefit in itself.
  • What will my first appointment be like?
Your first appointment will be an opportunity for you to say what is cuasing you difficulty and what you would like to be different. You may already have an idea of what you would like from therapy or you may want help indentifying what you would like to work or how you wouldlike certain things to change. We would also begin to think about how best to work on your problems and what type of therapy might best be employed.
  • What happens if I cancel?
We reserve the right to charge for cancellations, unless we agree to negotiate another time within the same week. If you make no contact and fail to attend, we would, expect to charge the full fee.
